    Position: Registered Acupuncturist

    Location: Sherwood Park, AB

    Summary

    Reporting to the Director of Allied Health, the Registered Acupuncturist works collaboratively with a team of health care professionals at Park Integrative Health (PIH) to prevent or treat illness and/or disease by inserting sterile needles into specific acupuncture points. The Registered Acupuncturist may use alternative therapies to normalize energy flow within the body. PIH is a private health and wellness clinic that specializes in providing comprehensive, collaborative healthcare to individuals in the greater Strathcona County and Edmonton area.

    Responsibilities
    • Perform acupuncture treatments to improve patient’s natural self-healing and prevent or treat illness
    • Perform complimentary modalities such as Gua sha, cupping, electro-acupuncture, Low Level Laser Therapy, Tuina massage, auricular therapy etc.
    • Collaborate with other health care practitioners at PIH to develop and implement short and long term patient care plans, including working alongside physiotherapists, occupational therapists, energy healers, massage therapists, nurse injectors, holistic nutritionists, chiropractors, psychologists, and more
    • Perform patient intake and assessment
    • Schedule patients in lieu of administrative assistant
    • Assist with other clinic activities as required
    • Actively participate in the Client Care Program and Internal Referral processes to continue to maintain the highest quality of client-centred care. This includes completing all referral letters as requested, including letters via Medical to Allied, Allied to Allied and Allied to Medical

    Qualifications
    • Diploma in Acupuncture and TCM
    • Active registration with the College and Association of Acupuncturists of Alberta
    • Previous experience considered an asset
    • Professional liability and malpractice insurance
    • Current CPR certification
