Richard Shimada

Richard was born and raised in Japan. His mother practiced as a General Physician at the University of Tokyo Central Hospital, while his grandmother was a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. Therefore he has grown familiar with both Western and Traditional Chinese (and Japanese Minimalist) Medicine. His deep-rooted fascination was heavily influenced by his mother who has an insatiable thirst for knowledge accompanied with an immense desire to help those in need. Practicing Traditional Chinese Medicine has become his natural calling.

He’s known to be a perfectionist, someone who strives to be as simple, efficient and effective as possible – embodying the words adaption and application. Having an educational background in Western Medicine, complements his innate understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Richard is adept in a minimalist diagnostic process that is easy to understand with proven results.

Certified as an R.Ac, Richard also specializes in Peripheral Nerves Disorders, Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSK), Pain Management, Mental health, Gastrointestinal disorders, as well as Cosmetic Acupuncture. Cosmetic Acupuncture is very well known across Asia, and emerging in North America as the go to holistic approach to rejuvenating the facial dermis – which is very effective against wrinkles with little to no side affects.
