INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19: We are committed to ensuring our patients and clients receive the best care possible. If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and/or are experiencing symptoms related to the virus, we urge you not to visit the clinic. The best thing you can do to protect yourself and those around you, is to stay home and contact Health Link at 811.  We are currently NOT doing COVID testing in our clinic, but public health nurses via Health Link (dial 811) can assist you with assessing testing. Alberta Health Services has developed an online self-assessment tool for COVID-19. You can take the assessment here.
If you develop shortness of breath or chest pain, please phone 911/proceed to your nearest emergency room, and advise medical staff of your symptoms immediately.

On April 30, the Alberta Government announced a phased relaunch strategy. Public health Order CMOH 16-2020 issued by Dr. Deena Hinshaw, Chief Medical Officer of Health, indicated that some health care professionals regulated under the Health Professions Act (HPA) are able to return to work.
This announcement initiated a robust and aggressive planning phase for the PIH leadership team. We are working diligently to ensure we comply with all requirements and guidelines established by Public Health as well the various regulatory bodies.
At this time, we are preparing to safely resume some services including:
– In-person essential medical services
– Note: Phone or virtual option will remain available
– In-person psychological services
– Note: Telepsychology option will remain available
– In-person dietitian services
– Note: Phone or virtual option will remain available
It is with heavy hearts that we acknowledge that acupuncture, massage and manual osteopathic services are not presently included in Phase I of Alberta’s Relaunch Strategy. We understand that this decision was not made lightly by the CMOH and Alberta Government. PIH’s leadership team respects that decisions made by public health authorities are done so to ensure the safety of our clients, team members, and the community.
As we prepare to relaunch in-person services, we will be implementing some changes in the clinic including:
– Active and Passive Patient/Client Screening Procedures
– Hand Hygiene
– OHS Administrative Controls
– OHS Engineering Controls
– Cleaning and Disinfection Procedures and Products
– Physical Distancing in PIH
– Clinic Schedule and Clinic Flow
– Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
– Exclusion or Work Restriction During Staff or Provider Illness
As soon as all of this is in place you will be able to book online for in-person allied health services!

To our valued clients:
Today the provincial government announced the mandatory closure of non-essential personal services. This means that for the foreseeable future, PIH is not able to offer to any in-person allied health services to clients, which includes massage and acupuncture. We will continue to allow nutrition and psychology appointments to be booked, but they MUST be delivered online and not in-person.
We know this move is in the best interest for the safety of our clients, team members, and community. We will continue to provide updates through our social media channels and website as we learn more, and we will follow the direction of the government and health care officials on when treatments are safe to resume.

Cancellation Policy Suspended:
Given the current COVID-19 situation, we are temporarily suspending our cancellation policy for patients and clients at PIH.
If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you cancel your appointment at PIH.
If you need to cancel a holistic booking, you may do so at ANY TIME by clicking the cancel appointment link in your appointment confirmation/reminder email from Schedulista. 
If you need to cancel a medical booking with a physician, please phone the clinic prior to your appointment to discuss rescheduling or changing the appointment to a phone consultation. PLEASE NOTE: you may only reach the clinic by phone on WEEKDAYS between 8:30am and 12:00pm, and 1:00pm and 3:45pm.
